The Silverdale Branch of the Kitsap Regional Library was abuzz last Saturday to celebrate the grand opening of the latest Coffee Oasis location. Supporters gathered together to mingle, sip espresso drinks, enjoy donuts, and celebrate the opportunity that this new location will bring to Silverdale for coffee drinkers and youth alike. Executive Director, Daniel Frederick, shared the mission and vision for this location. “Send them to me. That is the mission of The Coffee Oasis. To say, if there are youth experiencing homelessness in our community, send them our way. And now we have another spot for kids to go for job training. We’re partnering with other organizations, the Kitsap Regional Library and Central Kitsap School District, that also say ‘send your kids to me.’” Guests watched with joy as Daniel’s three-year-old son cut the ribbon to officially open the coffee kiosk. On behalf of The Coffee Oasis staff and board of directors, we would like to thank everyone who came out to celebrate this joyous occasion.
