Caring For Our Communities
We are excited to kick off 2025 with fantastic news!
The Coffee Oasis has been named a grant recipient for the 2025 Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards®, receiving a total of $75,000 from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to advance our efforts in Pierce County. This funding will help us make an even greater impact as we continue in our mission to offer youth aged 13-25 safe housing and support.
The True Inspiration Awards were established in 2015 to carry on Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy’s legacy of generosity and community service. To be selected, a nonprofit must work to address a pressing issue in their community that aligns with one of Chick-fil-A’s corporate social responsibility priorities: Caring for People, Caring for Others through Food, Caring for Our Communities, and Caring for our Planet. The Coffee Oasis received a True Inspiration Award in the category of Caring for Our Communities.
We are grateful for this gift that will restore community in Pierce County; we are so appreciative of Lynnae Schneller, owner of the Tacoma and Fircrest Chick-fil-A locations, for her nomination and ongoing support!
Not only does Lynnae Schneller support The Coffee Oasis financially through sponsorship of The Coffee Oasis Pierce County’s largest fundraising event–Coffee & Corks, but personally as well, through her volunteerism and partnership with The Coffee Oasis in providing job training for youth experiencing homelessness. Since the launch of The Loft Tacoma Youth Shelter in 2019, Lynnae has provided meals for the shelter and for youth birthday parties, baby showers, and other celebrations of youth accomplishments. Lynnae exemplifies what it means to be a community champion; her generous nature and compassion for vulnerable youth and young adults captures the mission of The Coffee Oasis–to restore community.
We are immensely grateful for the support of Lynnae Schneller, our local Chick-fil-A’s, and the nomination to receive a 2025 True Inspiration Award.
