Waiting for a safe place to call home…
The Coffee Oasis operates the only underage youth shelter in Pierce County, offering 12 beds for minors experiencing homelessness. Yet there are many more youth waiting for a safe place to call home. Currently, there are zero transitional or long term housing solutions for minors in Tacoma and only 13 long term housing options in all of Tacoma.
Building A Bridge to Affordable Housing
The Coffee Oasis plans to transform the 12-unit apartment building in Tacoma behind our youth shelter into transitional housing for youth. This building will provide youth (ages 16-20) with affordable housing while they establish a rental history and gain independent living experience.
Highlights:
- 3 Floors + Skyview Loft
- 12+ Rooms
- Housing Youth Ages 16-20
- 1 Floor Dedicated to Young Mothers with Children
