3,824 students experienced homelessness in Pierce County during the 2023-2024 school year.
These numbers represent only those we can count. Many more youth struggle daily with depression, anxiety, isolation, addiction, and trauma–often fighting to survive the day. Through your partnership, The Coffee Oasis connected with 448 youth in Pierce County through outreach programs.
Thanks to your support last year, you provided 2,214 bed nights of shelter at The Loft, the only underage youth shelter in Pierce County, and 763 case management sessions to youth establishing goals for their future. One youth, Kennedy, shared that, “it’s given me a peace of mind to have somewhere to sleep at night. I completed a finance program; I have things to do. It put me in a better place to take the steps I need in the future. It’s giving me options and helps me find things I can get into to be more productive.”
