On Wednesday, October 4, 2023 guests filled the beautiful Historic 1625 Tacoma Place venue for The Coffee Oasis 6th Annual Fundraiser for the Tacoma Youth Shelter: Coffee & Corks, an evening of hope. Makaela Finley, The Coffee Oasis Pierce Shelter Manager, shared about her heart for youth and The Coffee Oasis mission. A youth who participated in The Coffee Oasis youth programs, shared her story. Daniel Frederick, The Coffee Oasis Executive Director, shared about creating a safe place for youth who have no place to call home and no people to call family–and what it means to “keep the door open” for youth and the community at The Coffee Oasis. It was an evening full of joy, laughter, and tears. We are so grateful for the outpouring of generosity and support through this event.
Thanks to the generous contributions through Coffee & Corks, youth will be able to continue to have access to emergency shelter through our Tacoma Youth Shelter!
Thanks to the generous contributions from community partners like you, we raised $321,705 for Pierce County Youth Programs—enough to operate our 12-bed Tacoma Youth Shelter for 8 months! And provide case management for youth, supporting them in achieving their educational, employment, housing, and personal goals.
We are deeply grateful for the outpour of generosity from the greater community. On behalf of our entire Pierce County team, we extend our deepest thanks to our donors, sponsors, community, and friends. Thank you for caring for youth in Pierce County!
