Remembering is difficult when life is full. It can be hard at the end of a week, let alone a whole month, to remember all the things that have happened. And when we are working towards changing something as monumental as youth homelessness, the “little” successes often get lost or forgotten along the way.

But the thing is, we KNOW that change is happening in our community. We know that kids are being loved and making small steps towards big change. We know that youth are moving from homelessness into stability. We know that young people are gaining skills and confidence that allow them to live free and healthy lives. And we know that this is happening because we are doing it together!

So you can start anticipating a monthly Round-Up Report sharing highlights that are worth remembering. We hope you will be encouraged by how, together, we are changing the world around us, one day, one week, one month at a time!

 

MARCH ROUND-UP REPORT

1. After working hard with her case manager, a young mother, Crystal, and her three children moved off the streets and into their own apartment! The family sent us a picture of their joy on moving day. “Thank you for everything 🙂 Everyone at Coffee O has been wonderful and helped me be independent.” – Crystal

2. Students from the University of Washington Foster School of Business used their skills to host a fundraiser benefiting the Oasis youth programs. They surprised us with a card and the money they raised! It’s a privilege to see young leaders in action and using their talents to create opportunities for homeless youth.

3. Four girls graduated from our horse therapy group! The group has been a new program led by the Oasis counselor. Over 7 the girls chose to learn about relationships, boundaries, communication, and confidence through their time with the horses and each other. It’s such a privilege to see their courage and growth!
