DESCRIPTION:During the 2024-2025 school year\, 913 public school students in Kitsap County experienced homelessness. These numbers represent only those we can count. Many more youth struggle daily with depression\, anxiety\, isolation\, addiction\, and trauma—often fighting to survive the day. \nOne Hope Gala sponsor\, Matt Lewis from Pacific Lifestyle Homes shared: \n“Housing is something that’s obviously near and dear to our hearts\, and there’s such a huge need. When you talk about children\, there are even fewer choices.” \nThe Coffee Oasis is the only youth shelter in Kitsap County. And last year\, you provided 2\,897 bed nights of shelter and essential resources such as showers\, laundry\, food\, and more for 1\,588 youth.
