Do you remember getting hired for your first job? Maybe you were delighted at being chosen or nervous about the new responsibility. And nothing beat the feeling of that first paycheck!
Well, the Oasis youth have had similar experiences this month. Employment is the buzzword of April’s round-up report! Your support of The Coffee Oasis kids has meant that they made leaps and bounds towards creating a secure future for themselves
APRIL ROUND-UP REPORT

1. SEVEN YOUTH GOT HIRED!!! Kadesh, Tami, Damara, Katelyn, Malia, Jakaela, and Karen each worked hard with their Coffee Oasis case managers and were rewarded with employment! For one of the youth, this means money for rent and food while she attends school at Olympic College. For another, her job has provided enough stability so that she is no longer homeless. And for a third, her job is bringing her one step closer to transitioning out of the Oasis Youth Shelter. |

2. THREE YOUTH COMPLETED THEIR JOB INTERNSHIPS! Jerry (to the left), Jakaela, and Justin completed 100-hr job internships through the Coffee Oasis HOPE INC program. They not only gained references and work experience, but insight into what they are good at and want to do in the future, which are priceless discoveries for young people. Bonus: Jakaela got hired at where she interned! |

3. 20 years and 200+ people made for a great party. On Friday April 28, The Coffee Oasis celebrated its 20 year anniversary. That’s 20 years of changing the world for homeless youth! Kids from the first Teen Night in 1998 came to celebrate alongside current volunteers and community partners. It was a joy-filled evening. |
